      Climate Governance and Strateg

We have established a carbon management mechanism to coordinate low-carbon development efforts, incorporating core operational management, functional departments and business units into the carbon management system, combining top-down and bottom-up approaches to fully leverage the advantages of carbon management.

The "Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Energy Management Policy" and the "2024 Product Stewardship Policy" have been updated in line with the company's sustainable development progress and priorities, clearly stating Trina Solar's commitment to global carbon reduction initiatives. The Company pledges to continuously improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and actively participate in addressing climate change.

Trina Solar has established a "zero-carbon system" that encompasses the dimensions of "zero-carbon operation - zero-carbon value chain - zero-carbon products", clearly defining its climate ambition of "striving to achieve carbon neutrality at global organization level in 2030", and systematically setting mid-term climate goals for 2025-2030.

      Zero-CarbonOperation

The Company has established targets for carbon intensity, renewable energy use, energyconservation, PV power plant development and rooftop PV power plant , which together supportthe achievement of carbon neutrality targets at the operational level.

      Zero-CarbonValue Chain

The Company actively promotes the qreen value chain system and zero-carbon transition of thevalue chain, and is committed to establishing and improving the GHG inventory system of thevalue chain and the product carbon footprint certification system.

      Zero-CarbonProducts

The Company will continue to carry out product carbon footprint accounting and certificationto explore the potential for carbon reduction.

      Climate Risk Management

By conducting policy research, benchmarking with peers, and combining expert opinions, Trina Solar has identified the following climate change-related risks and opportunities of business development and operations, and assessed the impact of each risk and opportunity on the company's financial performance.

      Carbon Emission Management

Since 2011, Trina Solar has established and implemented the Greenhouse Gas Data and Quality Management Procedure, and actively promoted the process of carbon inventory, carbon verification and carbon footprint tracking.

All of the company's photovoltaic product manufacturing plants in China and overseas have conducted greenhouse gas inventories in accordance with ISO 14064 and obtained third-party data certification.

The company has conducted an analysis of Scope 3 emissions, among which Category 1 purchased goods and services are the largest source of Scope 3 emissions for Trina Solar, accounting for about 95.22%. Emissions in this category mainly come from production raw materials such as silicon materials. The second largest source is Category 9 downstream transportation and distribution, and Category 12 final product processing. The total contribution of these three categories to Scope 3 emissions exceeds 99%.

Trina Solar wins the title of the first zero-carbon factory in the photovoltaic industry certified by an authoritative organization

Recently, the first integrated zero-carbon photovoltaic, storage and charging park in Songjiang, Shanghai was successfully launched. The project used Trina Solar's new generation of industrial and commercial smart energy storage cabinet Potentia Blue Ocean to create a 645kWh capacity energy storage station. Based on high-safety and high-efficiency users needs, it provides the park with an efficient and reliable energy storage solution.

TRW Tracking's Spanish factory wins carbon footprint certification, green manufacturing promotes sustainable development of the industry

Trina 's Tracking manufacturing plant in Viana, Spain, has successfully obtained carbon footprint certification from Bureau Veritas. This certification not only demonstrates Trina's firm commitment to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development, but also sets a new benchmark for it in the global renewable energy sector.

2022 carbon emissions assessment of Trina's Vienna plant showed that the plant achieved a 54.7% reduction in carbon emissions compared to the previous year. The assessment was conducted in accordance with the globally recognized GHG protocol, with a detailed analysis of greenhouse gas scope 1 and scope 2 carbon emissions data, ensuring accurate reporting of direct and indirect CO2 emissions.

      Green life cycle management

since 2010, Trina Solar has designed a complete set of compliant treatment methods for scrapped photovoltaic modules to minimize pollution to the environment. In 2023, Trina Solar issued the "Product Stewardship Policy" signed by the Chairman, which clearly promised to implement environmental, health, safety and corporate social responsibility at every stage of Trina Solar's product life cycle; committed to voluntarily participate in the product recycling program to recycle and reuse defective and expired solar modules.

Trina Solar's Supreme and Supreme N series modules have obtained UL EPD certification and achieved mutual recognition with Italy's EPD. The entire series of Supreme N modules have obtained product carbon footprint certification, and the Supreme N series of modules have passed the Norwegian and international EPD certification.

Trina Solar wins “Decarbonization Leader” award from European Union Chamber of Commerce in China

2023 Sustainable Business Awards Conference and Ceremony with the theme of "Embracing Critical Transformation and Measuring External Impacts". Trina Solar stood out from the fierce competition of 65 participating companies with its efforts and achievements in leading low-carbon transformation and addressing climate change, especially its outstanding decarbonization performance at the operational level and successful decarbonization best practices.
